Three Peaks Walking Holidays

Visiting the Yorkshire Dales

Fancy a trip to Yorkshire and the Dales? Described as a beautiful place with amazing features making it a good choice for your stay-at-home holiday this year. There’s a flourishing staycation destination which is definitely worth your undivided attention.

When it comes to the Yorkshire Dales, you need to take the time to explore the offerings that the area has whilst finding a place to stay that is central, has comfortable large rooms and serves great food with an indoor pool and gym. That involves knowing what’s available, so let’s take a look at what’s on offer.

The Dales

The Yorkshire Dales are a series of incredibly scenic and enjoyable valleys in North Yorkshire. The area primarily consists of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, having a little area which borders Cumbria and Lancashire.

There’s plenty to see and do – whether you’re interested in all creatures great and small, or catching up on your history. This is where the   appeal of the staycation comes into play. We have Bolton Abbey, which is both beautiful and historic,  within a short drive we have Skipton Castle, The Bronte Parsonage Museum, Broughton Hall, Ripley Castle and Harewood House

Check Out the Three Peaks

No staycation would be complete if we didn’t talk about the three peaks. What are the three peaks? Well, they’re a collection of locations which can be climbed and admired.

The first of them being Pen-y-Ghent at 694m, it’s the shortest one there is however, you have two others to visit,  Ingleborough at 723m and Whernside which is 736m . This being  the highest point in North Yorkshire.

These places offer some spectacular views regardless of where you go or which one you visit. The beautiful scenery of the area is definitely a big part of its appeal.
