My husband and I stayed with you recently, having received your e mail about the evening dinner canal cruise we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed in any way, we had a lovely evening.
We just wanted to contact you and say a big Thank you to everyone involved, both on the boat and in the hotel. The food was lovely and the girls on board…plus the barman and gate runner lol…had everything under control, they did a fantastic job looking after everyone’s needs. The hotel staff who prepared and got everything on board during the trip also deserve a thank you too, excellent.
We stayed overnight in a comfortable room and enjoyed a “yummy” breakfast before leaving for home.
Could not fault our trip, would recommend and hopefully will be back soon.

I am writing to say how very much my wife and I enjoyed our stay in your hotel last week when we came with Woods Travel of Bognor Regis on their Delightful Dales excursion. We were particularly impressed by the warmth and courtesy of the welcome we received from your staff on arrival and I am pleased to say that their helpfulness continued throughout visit.
We found our room spacious and welcoming, though we would have preferred some air conditioning, given the exceedingly hot weather. The breakfasts were outstanding, and truly set us up for our demanding outings, and for such a start to our day we were very grateful.
We will have no hesitation in commending your hotel to all our friends and relatives. Your welcoming will give them a most encouraging start to their enjoyment of the lovely Yorkshire Dales.

Dear Mr and Mrs Weaving
Our recent stay at the Rendezvous was really amazing. So I wanted to take the opportunity to give you some feedback. Our stay was to celebrate my husband’s birthday so I had organised several surprises including a cake and a Yorkshire trike tour.
As a wheelchair user I always book directly with the hotel to ensure that the facilities are totally suitable for my disability. When I called to book I spoke to Elizabeth who could not have been more helpful and happy to share her knowledge with me. The access information in the website is really helpful.
The room is enormous making wheelchair use so easy. The room was amazing and the profiling bed INSPIRED! I have a hospital bed at home and frequently sleep less well when I travel. But not at your hotel – I had the best nights sleep because of the bed. Thankyou. You commented to me that some guests had complained about the bathroom. Although it was perfect for me I can see how some disabilities would struggle if they needed assistance in the shower area. The only negative about the bathroom is that the slope for the drain away is not good and water travels into the toilet area leaving the floor very wet this may cause a slip hazard. However, there were plenty of towels to facilitate moping up. By the way – the drain away is much better when using the overhead shower.
Your Staff have a high level of disability awareness and are so considerate and access aware. This was particularly evident when allocating tables in the restaurant ensuring that it was easy to manoeuvre my wheelchair. When we arrived, Elizabeth was on reception and directed me to the low desk to book in. For the length of our stay we did not experience any access issues and did not have to ask for assistance because staff anticipated the need. Staff were ready to carry food to our table at breakfast and were always ready to deal with doors.
As with every hotel it is the staff that make a guest’s stay special I found ALL your staff genuine and friendly they really did make our stay memorable. I would like to give a really special mention for Elizabeth she went over and above with her service before and during our stay. She remembered taking my booking and recommended a local Cake company for me. She went out of her way to ensure that my efforts to surprise my husband were kept confidential. She showed genuine interest in our stay and took the time to follow up on her efforts to make our stay special. She really is amazing!
Your restaurant is amazing too. I love the attentive unobtrusive service and the menu is wonderful. On our first evening we opted for the flambé menu. The manage and assistant manager ended up in competition with each other – we laughed so so much! and in the end could not tell the difference between the two dishes the were both delicious!
The Rendezvous is a really special place! Thank you to you all for helping us make some really special memories.
Yours Most Sincerely, Tina and David Heron
Just a quick note to say thank you for looking after us during our stay at the Rendezvous Hotel last weekend.
Everyone enjoyed their weekend and all of your staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. Your ballroom was superb and we enjoyed our two nights dancing there.
Thank you all again for a wonderful weekend and best wishes for the future.
Malcolm & Andrea Marshall
It is a pleasure for me to write to you on behalf of my daughter Catherine, my son-in-law Jeff, my friend and neighbour Jean and myself. We have thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at this charming hotel.
Although the Rendezvous is a very big establishment, it has a delightful ambience. We felt at home the moment we entered the building, comfortable, warm and very well-appointed lounges.
The lifts are easy to find – so important for visitors with physical disabilities. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and ideal en-suite facilities. We notice the bed-linen and the range of towels, all spotless and of excellent quality.
The restaurants are very inviting with attractive decor and lovely table linen. The menus cater for all tastes and the meals are delicious. The staff are a credit to you. There are young employees from Poland and Hungary in addition to the local staff. All are polite, helpful and gracious in their dealings with visitors.
We cannot praise the Rendezvous too highly. Its location at the side of the Leeds/Liverpool canal, its recreational activities – it has opportunities for ballroom dancing and quite remarkable conference choices. The proximity to the bonny town of Skipton and as the gateway to the famous Dales make your hotel an ideal choice for young and old, for walkers, cyclists, dancers and tourists from the U.K. and abroad.
The Rendezvous Hotel is our Number One choice from now on. We have had a very happy stay. Thank You!
On Tuesday morning after a long overnight drive I arrived in Skipton and got to the Hotel at one minute to ten, asking if breakfast might be still available. Your staff’s response can only be described as magnificent!
The charming and cheerful Receptionist immediately phoned the Dining Room and invited me to go upstairs where Karl and colleagues had laid a table and I was able – very happily – to partake of a full English, all done with courtesy and cheerfulness and with no resentment at the unexpected turn of events.
This quality of service is not often found these days and I was very glad of it – and certainly be coming to the Rendezvous again.

What lovely night’s stay we spent at the ‘Rendezvous’ last Saturday when we met our old friends Frank and Angela Thornber for an exceptionally excellent Dinner, so well served by your wonderful staff.
They are all, surely, hand picked and they could not be faulted in any way.
Hopefully if and when we visit the area again; it is such a long way for us; we shall pay you another visit.
We repeat that your standards are exceptional and send you our best wishes for your and the Rendezvous’ continued success.

…a light and airy feel as you walk into the atrium-like reception and lounge area, the inclusive, welcoming nature of the place comes across thanks to the friendliness of live-in owners Malcolm and Karen…
We enjoyed a tranquil view when we had dinner in the Baby Swan conservatory restaurant by the waterside, with a menu spot-on for Silver Travellers

Having stayed with you last week (19-21 May), my wife and I would just like to say how much we enjoyed our short break with you and that we shall be returning sooner rather than later.
We tried very hard to find something wrong with your hotel but the clean and comfy room, excellent cuisine and the cheerful, smiling staff made that impossible. Please convey our heartfelt congratulations to all staff members for making our stay happy and memorable.
Do keep up the very high standards that you are obviously so proud of. For our part we shall continue to sing your praises to all who will listen.

We have just returned home from the 3 night Xmas Break at Rendezvous and have had such a wonderful time I felt compelled to write a note of thanks.
Everything was absolutely perfect, the food was amazing and it was clear a lot of the guests came year after year, which is a testimony in itself. We felt a particularly good feature was the way the families xmas lunch was away from the adults only lunch and the pianist added sophistication.
The entertainment was good, the food fantastic, the room design well thought out and all the staff were extremely helpful. Please pass on my thanks to all involved.
This was the first time we have been away at Christmas and we are now trying to persuade the extended family to all come next year!

Sorry I have not had chance to send this earlier but I just wanted to say a massive thank you for your hospitality. It was an honour to attend such a lovely event. It’s no wonder your success grows from year to year as the passion from you and your petal team is a credit to you all.
I would just like to express my thanks and to all your staff for a truly wonderful stay at your hotel I am very critical of hotels having had a 10 year career in the industry. The room was immaculate, and trust me I look! Your staff on duty were just fabulous. Don’t tell the chefs as we need to keep them on their toes( I was Front of House Manager and never the twain shall meet!!)But I can honestly say you served the most fantastic breakfast I have had and I have had a few, Oakley Court, Windsor, The Swan Grasmere…..
Thank you and please let your team (as it clearly is) just how fantastic they are.
We have just spent 3 nights at the Rendezvous hotel over Christmas. As the weather was so bitterly cold, we were a bit concerned that the hotel might be cold, but we had no need to worry! It was nice and warm and we even had a fan heater provided in our room to use as we wished. The room itself was spacious and had a lovely view over the frozen canal and countryside. The food at the hotel could not be faulted especially the speciality porridge at breakfast times! The service too was excellent and the staff were always polite and helpful.
First let me say how much everyone enjoyed the hotel, everyone remarked on the friendly atmosphere and the facilities are excellent. Breakfast was 1st class and dinner was second to none.
As for golf, we played 4 courses on this trip, Rudding Park (Harrogate) are very professional and put on an excellent days golf and the course is top class. Two courses in your area, Nelson and Keighley, both provided us with well organised and enjoyable golf, although the weather had a bit of a negative effect at Keighley but both well worth a visit. Lastly Wetherby Golf Club, a very good course in good condition and again well worth a visit.
Finally, we are planning on a repeat for next year so I’ll be in touch shortly.
We (my wife and I) would like you to know how much we enjoyed our stay last weekend in your hotel. The hotel is very confortable and welcoming, your staff very efficient and courteous and the function room you gave us was really good for our purposes. We would like to thank you all for making the weekend one of the very best we have had in the 20 odd years we have been going. if I may single out one for a special mention may it would be Michael Stubbs in the restaurant. He dealt with a problem (of our making not the staff’s), and which affected just me, so well even though he was obviously concerned about it. I appreciated that. But again all your staff were very good.
Phil and Eileen Morgan
(Hope to be back next year)
