It’s show time!
Agricultural show season in the Yorkshire Dales
The Yorkshire Dales is a fantastic place to visit throughout the year, however a particular highlight of late summer and early autumn are the agricultural shows which take place throughout the National Park.
Agricultural shows are a tradition which date back for hundreds of years and offer a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a day out in the stunning surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With plenty to see and do for the whole family, agricultural shows are a great way to find out more about the people and animals who live in this beautiful corner of England.
Here are some of the most popular:
Gargrave Show takes place on 17 August and is within easy reach of Skipton, making it an ideal day out if you’re staying at the Rendezvous! With everything from farm animals and horticulture, to craft displays, sheep dog trials, fell running and show jumping, this show is one the whole family will love.
The location of Malhm Show is exceptional, taking place with a background of the impressive Malham Cove in the background and will be held on 24 August, following by one of our favourites: Kilnsey Show. Boasting an incredible setting as it’s located under the famous Kilnsey Crag and including all the usual farming exhibits plus horticulture, fell and harness racing, plus dry stone walling. Kilnsey show will take place on 27 August.
