Discover Yorkshire by vintage coach
The Rendezvous Hotel’s unique package for groups ‘The Real Yorkshire Experience’ already gives a choice of exclusive 3-night or 4-night short break itineraries that combine true Yorkshire hospitality, spectacular scenery and world-beating heritage.
As part of the offer, groups can travel by vintage coach. Operated by Yester Years Vintage Bus Tours, the coach lets you sit back in nostalgic luxury as you explore the Yorkshire countryside.
Yester Years Vintage Bus Tours offers a range of tours that you can book as part of ‘The Real Yorkshire Experience’.
Tour 1. Yorkshire industrial Heritage
Enjoy a trip to Saltaire for a look around the UNESCO World Heritage Site and Salts Mill. Continue into Bradford, passing Lister Mill and Little Germany before arriving at Bradford Industrial Museum. A walking tour will take you through the mill to see the working looms.
Tour 2. Bronte tour and Haworth
Leave the hotel and travel to Keighley railway station to board a steam-hauled train on the famous Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. At Haworth you’ll get back on the coach for the short trip up the hill to the top of the town of Haworth. After time to explore Haworth it’s back on the coach again for a scenic journey over the moors to see the location for ‘Wuthering Heights’. The journey then takes you to Thornton to see the birthplace of the Bronte sisters.
Tour 3. Rural Yorkshire
Depart for Embsay station for a ride behind a steam locomotive on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. The coach will then take you the short distance to Bolton Abbey itself. After time to have a wander around the abbey ruins, the journey continues via Barden Towers to Grassington where there’s ample time to explore this delightful Dales’ town.
Tour 4. Yorkshire Spa (or ‘Shop ‘til you drop’): Ilkley, Otley and Harrogate
A grand tour today to discover three of Yorkshire’s classic towns, Ilkely, Otley and Harrogate. There’s plenty of time for shopping, sightseeing, tea and cake! The Yorkshire scenery is rather spectacular too.
Tour 5. The Ancient City of York (or York: ‘History and Heritage’)
We head past Harrogate and Knaresborough to enjoy a full day in the magnificent city of York.
If you’re looking for inspiration for other places to visit, Greg from Yester Years is suggesting the following itineraries:
- Ripon, for its imposing cathedral, three museums and a market (Thursday only).
- Knaresborough, for its shops, riverside walks, a Wednesday market and the altogether remarkable Mother Shipton’s Cave.
