Praise from Sir Gary Verity for Award
Our British Coach Tourism Awards win receives praise from Sir Gary Verity of Welcome to Yorkshire.
Last week’s win at the British Coach Tourism Awards 2018 has brought a message of praise from Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire.
Commenting on the win in the category for Accommodation Provider – independent hotels, and being a finalist in the category for ‘Coach Tourism Innovation of the Year, Sir Gary says: “Huge congratulations to the Rendezvous Hotel for being recognised for the brilliant way they welcome and look after coach groups, such a vital part of tourism in Yorkshire. Exemplary service like this is the very reason our great county continues to grow as a destination. The Rendezvous is a fine example of first-class hospitality that makes people’s stays so pleasurable, and keeps them coming back for more.”
Malcolm Weaving, owner of the Rendezvous Hotel, says: “I’d like to thank Sir Gary Verity for his kind comments. Having won the ‘Accommodation Provider’ award twice before, and been a finalist in between, you might think we would be very happy with the service we offer to all our guests, and especially groups. Not a bit of it. We’re always looking to see how we can improve. Whilst ‘The Real Yorkshire Experience’ didn’t win the innovation award, it most certainly played a key role in highlighting to the awards judges that we’re not a hotel to rest on our laurels. I’d like to thank all the team at the Rendezvous. This success reflects their individual commitment to going the extra mile to make our guests feel very special.”
