Whilst there are lots of lovely places to visit in Yorkshire – it is the largest county in England, after all – we think Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales are particularly special. Skipton town centre has something for everyone; from fantastic shops (Skipton has previously won the coveted ‘High Street of the Year award, beating Kensington High Street and Portobello Road in London), cafes and restaurants, through to cobbled alleyways, canal side walks and boat trips, and the town’s stunning medieval castle.
If you’d like to explore a little further afield, the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is right on our doorstep. Skipton is often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ and with hundreds of miles of breathtaking scenery just a short drive or bus trip away, it’s not hard to see why. Featuring atmospheric moorland, rolling countryside criss-crossed by dry stone walls and lush river valleys, a visit to the Yorkshire Dales is a must.
